TIME LANDSCAPES

A reflection on the definition of Cultural Landscape as memory of the territory. The layers accumulated by human interventions through the years; the spaces generated by social habits and cultural values throughout History. An approximation to an anthropological concept of landscape: acknowledging the human being as the main element in the transformation of the territory leads us to think of it not as an accumulation of interventions, but as a deliberate product. The “memory landscape” of a Europe without borders, but with new limits, leads us to take a look at the shaping of the territory inside the old “limes”, at the superimpositions and changes which have occurred.

Can the new European configuration be translated into a map of memory and change?
