PROJECTS PRESENTATION
Madrid’s riverside landscape recovery, derived from M-30’s burial, by Burgos and Garrido, together with the new Salón del Prado, Álvaro Siza Vieira y Juan Miguel Hernández León, are showed in relation to smaller but very significant interventions, such as the Agustín de Lara Square by José Ignacio Linazasoro, or Retiro Sports Hall. by Ábalos y Herreros, also in Madrid, or three projects by the sea by Cesar Portela The newest works related to urban parks are reflected in the Gavia Park, by Toyo Ito Spain, the Valdebernardo Park, by Luís Moya, both in Madrid, and the Cabecera Park in Turia’s old riverside, Valencia, by Eduardo de Miguel, and the Front marítim of Benidorm by Carlos Ferrater. The Museum of Cantabria, by Tuñón and Mansilla, Madrid’s new Justice Campus, by Frechilla and L. Peláez, and Medinat Al Zahara’s Interpretation Centre in the outskirts of Cordoba, by Nieto and Sobejano, or Regional Madrid Circuit Cycling, on Project, by Alberto Leboreiro exemplify the new relations between architecture and landscape.
The first two days will then conclude with this critical presentation showing a panoramic view of the last interventions, both in the region of Madrid and in the rest of Spain. Madrid is here presented as a growing European region turned into a reference for contemporary discussion. The third day, significant members of spanish and european universities will expose the research activity developed on those universities.
From Europe we will receive Farid Ameziane, from the Nacional School of Architecture of Marseille, Philippe Louguet, from the School of Architecture of Lilli , Marc Crunelle, from the Superior Institute of Architecture of Mons, Roberta Amirante, from the Faculty of Architecture of Naples and Constantin Spiridonidis, from the Aristotelic University of Tesaloniki.
Representing spanish universities will be Joaquín Sabaté, from the University of Barcelona, Javier Maderuelo, from the University of Alcalá, Miguel del Rey, from the University of Valencia, Flora Pescador, from the University of Las Palmas, José Morales, from the University of Sevilla, Eduardo Rojo, from the University of Navarra y Miguel Ángel Aníbarro, Darío Gazapo and Joaquín Ibáñez, from the University of Madrid.
